Outside of school, she spends most of her free time with friends and family. She also is on the cross country and track teams. Over the summer, Bernstein interned at Fermilab in Batavia and tutored junior high math students at Park Junior High School in La Grange. She is the founder of the school's Girls in Engineering, Math and Science club, which encourages girls at Lyons and nearby middle schools to pursue interests in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. She also contributes to the school's literary magazine, Menagerie. During her free time, Lin plays piano and rides horses.īernstein is captain of the Science Olympiad team, math team and National Honor Society. She has also been a member of the Lyons Township Math Team since freshman year and is a member of the National Honor Society. Lin is a two-time badminton singles state high school champion.
